How to Operate Your Shutters

ShutterGuard and Hurricane Shutters

You can tilt the louvres by hand to any position you choose.

If you have a bi-fold congiguration:

Close all the louvres , remove the keys and then start with the panel closest to the wall and gather the panels, one by one, to stack against the wall. It is important that the louvres are in the closed position and the keys removed to prevent them from breaking off.

To lock your aluminium shutters, turn the knob in a clockwise direction until both bolts (top and bottom) are fully extended into the top and bottom track and you hear the knob click.

To unlock Hurricane Shutters, simply turn the knob in an anti-clockwise direction to release the bolts from the top and bottom tracks.

To unlock ShutterGuard, you will have to use your unique security key and then turn the knob in an anti-clockwise position to release the bolts from the top and bottom tracks.

Use the louvre lock button (slide the button up or down) on your ShutterGuard panels to open and close the panels.

Please note that the louvre-lock button is an optional extra on Hurricane Shutters.

Thermowood Shutters

If you have a bi-fold configuration:

Close all the louvres by using the tiltrod or by hand if you do not have a tiltrod. Start with the panel closest to the wall and gather the panels, one by one, to stack against the wall. It is important that the louvres are in the closed position.
